  • Stephen Foglia

    PLAYWRIGHT

    Stephen is a writer and director from St. Louis. His work has been presented at Undermain Theatre, Dallas Museum of Art, Dixon Place, IRT, Barn Arts Collective, Shanghai Theater Academy, the Ford Studio at the Pershing Square Signature Center, and more. He was a finalist for the Columbia@Roundabout series and the Against the Grain Festival and a semi-finalist for the O’Neill National Playwrights Conference, the Bay Area Playwrights Festival, and the Civilians Next Forever Initiative. Stephen is a member of Lincoln Center Directors Lab. He earned his MFA in Playwriting from Columbia University School of the Arts in 2017. He currently teaches theater and produces plays with students at Hunter College.

  • Phillip Christian Smith

    DIRECTOR

    Phillip is a member of New Dramatists 2023-2030, Sloan commission 2024-2025, Dramatists Guild Foundation fellow 2024-2025, a Roe Green commission with Cleveland Playhouse, a Fire This Time Festival playwright, Fresh Ground Pepper PGPG, a Tennessee Williams scholar at Sewanee (current staff), Playwrights Realm and Lambda Literary fellow, Winter Playwrights Retreater, The Outrage: A Queer Writers Residency. Florida Rep PlayLab, Valdez Conference. O’Neill, PlayPenn, Trustus, and BAPF Finalist. Co-literary director of Exquisite Corpse Company. He is a founding member and 1/5th of The Omnivores. He teaches acting at Pace University and Hunter College where he has also taught playwriting. MFA Yale School of Drama, MFA Hunter College, BFA UNM.

  • Charles Manning

    PRODUCER

    Charles is a writer, actor, and producer pulling double duty on The Maenads as producer and performer. His previous New York stage credits include Not About Me (a 2023 New York Times Critic’s Pick), Zeus 4 (winner of the 2024 Princess Grace Award for playwriting), Bad Jews, Mr. Marmalade, and Les Blancs. He is also starring in the upcoming comedic feature film Timeshares.

  • Scott Saldaña

    PRODUCER

    Scott met playwright Stephen Foglia their freshman year at Davidson College and the two have been friends ever since. As a lifelong fan of theater, Scott is excited to step into the role of producer for the first time on The Maenads. Scott is a trial lawyer by trade and a partner at Reid Collins & Tsai in Austin, Texas, handling high-stakes commercial litigation.

    PRODUCER

    Stephen is based in Brooklyn and works in advertising sales with a focus on entertainment partnerships. He has a deep appreciation for the arts and is very excited to be involved in this production, especially since it was written by his friend and freshman year hallmate Stephen Foglia.

  • JARED SIX

    STAGE MANAGER

    Jared (he/him) is a New York City-based stage manager and is thrilled to be working on The Meanads and is especially excited to be working with director Phillip Christian Smith again! Jared graduated from Pace University with his BA in stage management and has been working as a freelance stage manager ever since. Jared's most recent credits include: Back to the Future National Tour (PA), I'm Repeating Myself (PSM), Friends The Musical Off Broadway (ASM/Gunther), and Broadway Bares (PA) to name a few. He hopes you enjoy the show!

  • Dedalus Wainwright

    SET DESIGNER

    Dedalus is a set designer and visual artist based in Harlem, New York. He loves to collaborate on vivid and accessible projects. Recent design work: Alcina, directed by Sam Helfrich at The New School; Grape Maestro (film), directed by Alla Kovgan; How Do I Become WE (dance), directed by Parijat Desai; Cosmic Cowboy, directed by Sam Helfrich at White Snake Projects; Elizabeth Cree, directed by Sam Helfrich at West Edge Opera; Cunningham (film), directed by Alla Kovgan. Workshop  projects include: Uncle Stan in Berlin, directed by Dima Krymov at Hunter College; Our Town, directed by Dima Krymov at The New School. From 1999-2010, Dedalus was a founding member of Kinodance Company.

  • Annie Garrett-Larsen

    LIGHTING DESIGNER

    Annie (she/her) is a New York based lighting designer for theater and live performance. Her recent designs include: QueenThe House That Will Not Stand, and Fabulation (all New York University). Annie’s design work has been seen in New York at: Ars Nova, HERE Arts Center, Judson Memorial Church, Atlantic Acting School, The Flea, The Tank, Dixon Place, The Chain, The Gallery Players, The Secret Theater, Theaterlab, Pregones PRTT. Her work has also been seen regionally/non-NYC at: Cleveland Play House, Chautauqua Theater Company, Detroit Public Theater, and The Peterborough Players. Annie holds a BA from Bard College and MFA from NYU Tisch.

  • John Horzen

    PROJECTION DESIGNER

    John received his MFA in projection design from the David Geffen School of Drama at Yale, and his bachelors degree in Violin Performance from the Blair School of Music at Vanderbilt University. His selected projection credits include Cuatro Bailes (The Bushnell, Co-Developer and Set/Projections design), Stille Licht (Kilbourn Hall, NY), MAMA (The Gramercy, NYC), and El Coquí Espectacular (Long Wharf, CT Critics Circle Nomination). John’s technical ventures include: nTune (a comprehensive practice app for musicians) and Prevision (a VR-enabled pre-visualization tool for live event production) and reflect his commitment to building tools that empower artists and democratize access to high-quality creative workflows.

  • Christian Killada

    PROJECTION DESIGNER

    Christian holds an MFA in projection design from the David Geffen School of Drama at Yale. He is a creator and researcher with an interest in interactive storytelling that merges human performance with technology. His expertise spans scenography, AR, VR volumetric capture, and interactive installation with the goal of reimagining dramatic arts to foster global creativity and community through cutting edge tools. Recent projection design credits include: Kilele (Yale University Theater), The Effect (Saybrook Underbrook, Falcon Girls (Yale Reeratory Theater), Pearl’s Beatuy Salon (Iseman Theater), The Rake’s Progress (Sprague Hall).

  • KT Farmer

    COSTUME DESIGNER

    KT (they/them) is a costume designer and illustrator from Atlanta, Georgia. They are a 2025 MFA graduate of David Geffen School of Drama at Yale, where their credits include The Inspector, directed by Yura Kordonsky, and hamlet: princesa de dinamarca directed by Juliana Morales Carreño. KT received their BFA in theatre costume design and technology from Virginia Commonwealth University where their design credits include Intimate Apparel and Heart of a Dog. In addition, KT has worked as a freelance illustrator, painter, and costume craftsman for more than a decade.

  • Matthew Mastromatteo

    INTIMACY DIRECTOR

    Matthew (they/he) is an actor, director, intimacy professional, and educator based in NYC. They are a graduate of Mount St. Mary’s University and hold their MFA in Acting from Long Island University: Post. Matthew is a Visiting Assistant Professor of Theatre Arts: Acting at Marymount Manhattan College. They are a Certified mVm Teacher - Miller Voice Method.

  • Ethaniel Curcio

    ASST. DIRECTOR

    Ethaniel is a southern soul embracing the New York hustle. A recent graduate of Pace University's BFA Acting program, he is stoked to be a part of The Maenads. Some of Ethaniel's recent theatre credits include Dog Sees God: Confessions of a Teenage Blockhead and Shakespeare's Measure for Measure. He wants to thank director Phillip Christian Smith for the chance to collaborate again, and is excited for everyone to experience the show.

  • Fernando Antonio Oramas

    ASST. DIRECTOR

    Fernando is a Cuban-American theatre major at Hunter College. Based in New York and originally from Miami, Fernando is an actor, writer, director, and producer, amongst other things. He has worked on productions including The Good Person of Szechwan, Monster, The Kingdom, and Amazing Humans Doing Amazing Things. He is thrilled to be a part of this production and looks forward to everyone seeing the show.

  • Mariela Andrade-Ángel

    ASST. STAGE MANAGER

    Mariela is a NYC-based Chicana artist working as a stage manager, production manager, and producer. A clinical psychology, theatre, and arts management student at Hunter College, Mariela has a passion for making the arts more accessible. Past stage manager credits include LASAGNA, Judge Jury and Executioner, Monster!, Rocky Horror Shadow Cast, The Kingdom, and Thread Hell. Last Summer, they stage managed Open by Jaixa Irizarry at The Tank and are excited to return for The Maenads.
